I am 37 years old, I was a smoker until around 5 years ago, gave up on Zyban then started again a couple of years ago... I have tried to give up again a few times and couldn't due to stress and willpower, I spoke to Sara and decided to give Hypnotherapy a go, I was a bit sceptical as I didn't think I would be susceptible to being hypnotised and wasn't sure if it actually works or not. However, I had already worked out that I couldn't afford to smoke and was becoming increasingly worried about the health risks, I had calculated that based on smoking 20 a day I was spending around £40 a week (shockingly over £2000 a year when I added up the figures)... so thought why not...
I had a phone consultation with Sara and she emailed me some questions about likes, dislikes etc over so that she could personalise the CD to myself, which I filled in and sent back.. she then posted me the CD once she had completed it which only took a few days. When I first got the CD I was extremely stressed personally and didn't feel like I could do it... after a few weeks I was still stressed but I took the decision and stopped smoking on the Saturday, I actually did ok ish the first day and didn't do the CD until the Sunday morning when I felt like I was beginning to climb the walls, I was quite snappy and irritable and had bad cravings... I had a bath, lay down and listened to the CD.
I found Sara’s voice extremely calming, I wasn't sure what to expect, I listened to what she was saying and relaxed, I was distracted at times to outside noise, then I also found myself drifting into the CD however it felt like I was conscious throughout. Once the CD had finished I felt completely calm... this was a couple of weeks ago - I haven't smoked since, a couple of times I have felt like I wanted to and haven't... I can even sit around people who smoke and not want one, I was stood in the bank the other day and a lady came in and she smelt awful, my sense of smell and taste are returning, I feel a lot more healthy already - I know its early days however I know now that I have done the right thing...
I can highly recommend Sara - the thing I found was I felt like I could trust her which was quite important as I had not tried Hypnotherapy before and was a bit nervous, I was sceptical before about it working however I must say I am very impressed so far and after weighing up the cost and damage of smoking against the cost of the CD I am over the moon... “I wanted the confidence to drive on motorways - something I was afraid of doing. I was comfortable driving on ordinary roads but had a fear of motorways. During our sessions you certainly gave me confidence by giving me small goals to aim for e.g. by first driving on the motorway with someone in the passenger seat and doing just a short journey. When I was confident doing that I managed to drive by myself for about 9 miles on the motorway. I remember you asking me what my biggest worry was and it was about getting lost but you talked me through it and I had worked out a plan to get myself back on track.” Mrs RD

I went to Sara to help with weight loss, as recommended by a friend. I found Sara to be extremely approachable and warm. I had been yo-yo dieting for years without any long term success, always gaining what I had lost, and more. With Sara's help we identified the trigger for the 'failed' diets and in the most part it was boredom. My son is 17 years old, and doesn't need me so much anymore and after years of being available for him, suddenly I found I had lots of time on my hands and did nothing about filling it, apart from over eating. Once we had established a trigger we worked on how I could spend my time more constructively. Along the way I kept a food/mood diary which helped me to pin down the feeling before and after a 'binge'. Once I identified the feelings and essentially the trigger I found it really easy to stop bingeing!
I saw Sara 6-8 times and have lost 30lbs so far over 10 weeks. I feel amazing and never want to 'go back there again' I attend a gym 3+ times per week and when I can't get to the gym I go out on my bike or just walk locally. It doesn't need to be expensive, but being more active has been so good and has helped me accelerate my weight loss. There definitely is a way to lose weight, raise self esteem without it being too difficult. I have learned a lot about myself on the way. Thank you Sara. Mrs JS
